Fitchburg Housing Authority was established in 1948. The Agency’s mission is to provide safe, secure rental units for families, elderly, and handicapped or disabled persons. Both the State and Federal Governments fund the programs. Depending upon the program, applicants can be housed either in private sector dwellings or apartment complexes owned by the Fitchburg Housing Authority. FHA Reopening to Public, Tuesday, April 6, 2021

The FHA will resume normal operations beginning on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Normal office hours will resume at all FHA office locations.

Routine work orders and unit inspections will also be resuming starting in April. We ask all residents to observe social distancing and wear masks when visiting FHA offices and when maintenance staff are in your apartments.

Notice of Public Hearing

The Fitchburg Housing Authority invites all tenants and the general public to a review of the

Authority's Proposed Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2022.

The Annual Plan is intended to provide insight into the Authority’s operations and plans for the

coming fiscal year as they affect the Authority’s state-aided public housing. The Proposed

Annual Plan is comprised of the following elements:

1. Proposed Capital Improvement Plan (5-year)

2. Proposed Maintenance and Repair Plan

3. Current Operating Budget

4. Responses to the Performance Management Review (PMR) findings

5. List of housing authority policies

6. List of waivers from governing regulations of the Department of Housing and

Community Development (DHCD)

7. Other elements

Residents and the general public are invited to review the Annual Plan before the hearing

and may submit public comments as noted below. The Authority shall consider the

concerns of any Local Tenants’ Organization (LTO) or Resident Advisory Board (RAB)

regarding needs and priorities and incorporate some or all of such needs and priorities in

the draft plan if deemed by the Authority to be consistent with sound management.

Substantive comments will be summarized and included in the Annual Plan when it is

submitted to the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

FHA – Invitation to Bid

The Fitchburg Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites written quotes from Contractors for the Canton Valley (705-2) Development for the Fitchburg Housing Authority in Fitchburg Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Next Phase Studios.


The Project consists of: Canton Valley Envelope and Lighting, #097124 - Envelope, interior and exterior lighting, ADA conversion and site work project at the Canton Valley Development in Fitchburg, MA. Scope of work to include membrane roof replacement for all (8) residential buildings and Community Building, exterior door replacement, selective window replacement at residential units, wood siding removal and replacement at (3) residential buildings (5 previously replaced). Renovation of three existing units to be ADA accessible and provide ADA accessible kitchen in the Community Building. Sidewalks to be removed and replaced and new ADA compliant ramps to be installed.

The work is estimated to cost $ 1,517,555.00

Quotes are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A (2)(B) & to state prevailing wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149

Written Quotes will be received until 10:00 a.m., Wednesday February 9, 2022. Sub Bid deadline is Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
